Trudy Soucoup, MAOL has spent three decades building nonprofits that build better lives. As CEO of Homes First since 2011, she's led the creation of safe, affordable housing across Thurston and Mason Counties. A 2008 Lead Thurston graduate with a master's in organizational leadership, Trudy has served on boards from the Nonprofit Association of Washington to the Washington State Employees Credit Union, the Center for Business and Innovation of the Thurston EDC, and the Alliance for Nonprofit Insurance. She always focused on one goal: helping organizations grow stronger so communities can thrive.

Are We Paying Consultants to Tell Us What We Already Know?
I'm not here to argue that outside expertise is always theater. It genuinely isn't. And after years of watching organizations navigate this, I'd say there are some situations where the outside voice isn't just useful — it's the honest choice.
