A: Your Mission Maven is a consulting practice led by Trudy Soucoup, based in Olympia, WA. I support nonprofits and private organizations with leadership coaching, strategic planning, board development, and organizational growth. My mission is to help you and your organization reach new heights while keeping your feet firmly on the ground.

Q: Who does Your Mission Maven work with?

A: I  work with both nonprofit organizations and private sector clients. My services are particularly valuable for executive directors, organizational leaders, boards of directors, and anyone racing to achieve their mission who needs guidance and support.

Q: Where is Your Mission Maven located?

A: I'm based in Olympia, Washington, but I work with individuals and organizations around the world through virtual and in-person consultations. I am a dual citizen of the USA and Canada.

A: Absolutely! I  offer comprehensive strategic planning support, including weekly check-ins, board facilitation sessions, document development, and copywriting. My 6-week strategic planning package helps you perfect your plan for supporting or growing your organization.

Q: Do you provide board training?

A: Yes! I work extensively with boards of directors, offering training sessions, development workshops, individual board member interviews, and support in developing governance approaches that keep mission and finance in balance.

Q: Can you help with grant writing?

A: Yes, grant writing and development support is one of our core competencies. With extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising and development, I can help you craft compelling proposals and strengthen your development strategy.

 

Pricing & Packages

Q: How much do your services cost?

A: I offer several packages:

  • Monthly Coaching: starting at $400/month for one hour per week of one-on-one coaching time

  • Strategic Planning Package: starting at $5,000 for a 6-week program including weekly check-ins, board sessions, and document development

  • Financial Sustainability Package: starting at $7,000 for an 8-week program focused on keeping mission and finance in balance

  • Custom packages are available based on your specific needs

Q: Do you offer a free consultation?

A: Yes! I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to discuss your needs and determine how we can best support you and your organization.

Q: Can I create a custom service package?

A: Absolutely. While I offer structured packages, I understand every organization has unique needs. Contact us to discuss a customized approach that fits your specific situation and budget.

Q: What's included in the monthly coaching package?

A: The monthly coaching package includes one hour per week of dedicated one-on-one time with me to support you in finding answers to leadership questions, working through challenges, and staying focused on your mission.

Q: What is your approach to consulting?

A: I believe in providing practical, grounded support that helps you reach for the stars. My approach is collaborative, action-oriented, and focused on empowering you to make informed decisions. I'm here to be your navigator, offering advice and support while helping you feel confident about the direction you're taking.

Q: How long does a typical engagement last?

A: It depends on your needs. I offer monthly ongoing coaching relationships, focused 6-8 week project-based engagements, and single-session consultations. Many clients start with a specific project and continue with ongoing coaching support.

Q: Do you work virtually or in-person?

A: We offer both virtual and in-person services. While I'm based in Olympia, WA, I work with clients around the world through video conferencing and other virtual or in-person collaboration tools.

Experience & Background

Q: What is Trudy's background?

A: Trudy Soucoup brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, marketing, and development, including serving as the CEO of Homes First since 2011, Manager of Organizational Development for Community Youth Servides, and Director of Marketing and Development at Wolf Haven International. She has worked with organizations throughout Thurston County and beyond, served on the Board of Washington State Employees Credit Union, the Nonprofit Association of Washington, the Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance (ANI), and many community committees and boards.  Trudy holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.

Q: What types of organizations have you worked with?

A: I've worked with a diverse range of nonprofits including wildlife conservation organizations, community development groups, the economic development council, and various other mission-driven organizations in both the nonprofit and private sectors.

Q: Do you have experience with small organizations?

A: Yes! I work with organizations of all sizes, from small grassroots nonprofits to larger established organizations. I understand the unique challenges that come with each stage of organizational growth.
